Jack Rushton’s 70th birthday is just a few weeks away. His health has been relatively fragile this past year. Despite his medical setbacks, Jack continues to embrace life with his characteristic humor and concern for the welfare of others. Through Jack’s example, I have faced trials with greater hope and courage. I’m sure I’m not alone in my gratitude for this man’s inspiring attitude toward life despite the accident nineteen years ago that left him a quadriplegic on life support.
Let’s Give Back to Jack! Please join me in offering a tribute to Jack Rushton on the occasion of his 70th birthday by emailing your story of how Jack’s life has had an influence on you. We will collect your emailed responses, and they will be presented to him during a family gathering at the end of September. The exact date has not yet been determined. This token of appreciation was discussed with Jo Anne, who acknowledged that this gift will deeply touch her husband’s heart. Shh, it’s a surprise.
I appreciate you passing this along to anyone you know who would be interested in participating but might not be on the email list we “borrowed” from Jack’s computer.
- Please send your email responses by September 27th to: givebacktojack@gmail.com (This email address is case sensitive.)
- Include your contact information.
- Feel free to include pictures.
- If you are willing to have your letter published in Jack’s writings, please type, “I give permission for any portion or all of my letter to Jack to be shared publically.”
If you miss the deadline, don’t despair! Your response will be just as precious to Jack and will be added to his on-going electronic birthday collection.
Sincerely,
Sharli Cartwright, family friend
